Meant To Fly
Eva’s first single was released on the eve of winning Canadian Idol. The single was released in Canada on the 26th September 2006.
On the Canadian BDS Airplay Chart, the song has peaked at number seventeen. “Meant to Fly” topped the Canadian Singles Chart for four weeks. When it debuted at number one, it dethroned Taylor Hicks’ “Do I Make You Proud” to number two, which marked the first time that two Idol winners had singles in the Canadian Singles Chart top two.

I Owe It All To You
The second single from her debut album, the first from a non-Idol perspective was released in Canada in November 2006. The song hit number 9 on the Canadian Airplay charts.

Fallin’ For You
“Fallin’ for You” is the third single from Eva Avila’s debut album, Somewhere Else. The song was produced by Adam Messinger. It was released for radio airplay on April 3 across Canada, and in the final 16 seconds of the track separated from the song, Avila sings in Spanish. The song also ended up becoming a top forty hit in Canada, peaking at #35 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Give Me The Music

Damned
“Damned” is the second single taken from Eva Avila’s Give Me the Music album. The single reached Chum FMs 10 Most Wanted countdown numerous times and peaked at 21 on the CHUM Chart and 83 on the Canadian Hot 100. Scenes of the music video are shown with Avila sitting on a couch in a room, looking at pictures on the wall and showing her anger at her friends boyfriend. The music video premiered on eTalk on February 25, 2009.

Somewhere Else

Is Eva’s debut album after Winning Canadian Idol. It was released in Canada on14th November 2006. In usual ‘Idol’ style the album was recorded in a little over three weeks and includes songs from Cindi Lauper and was produced by Rob Wells who is known for his work with the Backstreet Boys and Nick Lachy. The album also has songs from song writing teams who have previously worked with Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff and Beyonce.
The album debuted at number 6 on the Canadian Album charts on the 19th November 2006.

1. “Like A Bullet” was a cover, originally by Stefanie Heinzmann from Switzerland who released the song as her second single from her debut album ‘Masterplan’
2. “Master Plan” is also a song from Stefanie Heinzmanns debut album ‘Masterplan’
3. “No Smoke” was originally recorded in 2004 by British singer Michelle Lawson. The song was first covered by Belgian singer Esther Sels in 2008, then called “Game Over.” Esther performed it in the second heat of Belgium’s Eurosong in 2009. It’s also been covered by the German band Queensberry and released as their debut clip following their success on German Popstars in 2008 and Nicki French is too releasing a version of the song on Energise Records in 2009.
